My name is Purity. I am a 28-year-old single mother of one. I joined the cross-stitch project in 2017 when Cross Stitch representatives returned here to the prisons to see us and train more women. I worked on this cross stitch piece of the dog which took me two weeks to finish. Through this project I have been able to earn money that enabled me to pay for my child’s up keep. Am very grateful to Cross Stitch for empowering us because I had lost all hope as a single mother behind bars and was constantly thinking of what my child is going through knowing that am not around to take care of her.
